The nature of interdisciplinary.

To me interdisciplinary is more of a way on thinking than actually mixing disciplines together. As long as you’re aware of how you can use different skills to compliment and contrast each other then you should be considered or consider yourself an inter-disciplinarian.

The “Drawing Machine” above by Joseph L. Griffiths is a good example of what I’m saying. He’s mixed drawing materials with a common place object; the bicycle to create something new with many possibilities in itself.

All of the above artists are under the same umbrella (well I would put them there), no matter how different all of their work is each one of these artists knows the possibilities and are pushing the boundaries of materials and ideas.
